| Reflux in babies and toddlers |
|
19 November 2006 | | Reflux in babies and toddlers
All three of my children had reflux, or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease to give it its proper title, in varying degrees. Basically, the sphincter at the top of the stomach is weak when babies are born, and sometimes it is not strong enough to hold the contents of the stomach in, so when they burp (and very often also when they do not burp) everything in the stomach (including all that stomach acid) comes up too. Nightmares

|
20 December 2005 | | Meningitis
My son was two months old when he contracted meningitis. We were living in West Africa where medical facilities are limited. Fortunately, he was quickly diagnosed and made a swift recovery.
In 2004 the United Kingdom issued new information regarding meningitis.
What is meningitis?
Meningitis is an inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and spinal cord. There are two types: viral and bacterial. My son had the milder form which is viral and .... |
