For almost 3 years I have suffered with low abdominal pain and irregular, or more accurate a lack of, periods. I have had hardly any bleeding in all that time, some spotting, some clotting and maybe a weeks worth or actually bleeding. I have had ultrasound scans, blood tests, tried every contraceptive pill on the market (or so it feels). The higher the dosage of contraception pill, the worse my pain was, so for the last 8 months I have been on Loestrin20, apparently the losest dosage on the market.

Since moving to Wales I have been trying to get to seen a gynaecologist and the waiting lists have been huge. In the meantime I was managing my pain. I started writing down exactly when I got my pains, how long for etc, and a pattern emerged and so I would take pain killers just before it was due and when it arrived it seemed copable! However, for the last 2 months it hasnt followed this pattern. Now it is coming and going as it pleases. I have spent the last 2 days terribly uncomfortable. Not only this but I am having bleeding after intercourse and the worst pressure type feeling I have ever experienced after labour of course.

Ive been back to my GP who has run some tests and they have come back clear, and they are putting the rods up the gynae team. Im at a loss as what else i can do to help myself. Warm baths.. stuper duper pain killers.. sitting up, lying down.. nothing seems to work any more. I think I just needed a rant, so Im sorry. I just want it sorted, its fine when I can cope with it, but it gets me so down when I have days and nights like the last 2 I just had! Its been going on so long and I just want it to go away. Ok waffle over, xxxx

Aww babe lets just hope these can find whats causing all this pain.

I can't believe its been this long and yet still nothing has been found. My mum ended in hospital years back with pain in her abdimon and nothing showed up. She was like this for years in the end it was caused by thybroids. But at the time it all started they wasn't showing up and it took what seemed like forever to find out what it was.

Sending you warm hugs babe. xxxxxxx

I think I will moan in future, I now have an appointment, 2nd April, but thats only to see the consultant and discuss my history so nothing much is likely to be done then! They ruled out, apparently, endometrosis when I was under the consultant in Bury, also scanned for cysts and saw no evidence, although in 2004 I was addmitted to hospital and they thought a cyst may have ruptured then. Every scan I have had shows excess fluid around the abdomen but they said its not completely uncommon and did investigate further.

No doubt starting with a new consultant will mean starting almost from the beginning, more scans and hormone tests. I know they want to send some samples to the trophoblastic team in Sheffield, and due to a new condition my dad has been diagnosed with my GP recommends I have a test for haemochromotosis, although I am young to display any symptoms yet, the symptoms I do have mirror those found in female carriers of this condition so my GP said its worth checking. Guess I will just have to wait until April now, at least I have a date at long last!

If my pain and problems can be resolved without a steriliasation then I wont be having it. I dont see the point in having it if I dont have the complications, but if they can do nothing more than Bury did then it is still an option for me.

Does this mean your missing file has been found?  It's always worth moaning to gp's it's amazing how quick they can make the different departments work!  Good luck and hope they find out what the problem is for you at least so they can get the right treatment to give you a more pain free time!
