Hi everyone,
I placed a post a few days ago and mentioned that my hubby and I were starting a petition on the governments new website, asking for more research into SPD (& DSP) and it's debilitating effects..
As most of you know, I suffer very badly from this, (as do a lot of women on this site and beyond) and have done for the past 7.5 years. Before my first pregnancy, I was very fit and healthy and to be honest had only been in hospital for the odd broken bone etc as a child. I have come to the point now where I have been confirmed as 'Totally & Permenantly Disabled@ by the medical profession and all through my desire to have a child.
This condition is becoming more & more common and with it more & more disabling.. It can totally ruin your life and to date there has been very little research into the causes or the sudden increase in cases, all because it's not considered 'life threatening'! It is however, life changing (& not in a very positive way) as you haev to live with a tremendous amount of pain on a daly basis. It also seems to be a lottery on the level of care/understanding you recieve form your gp's, mw's, hv's etc as even they know very little about it..
PLEASE SUPPORT OUR FIGHT TO GET MORE FUNDING PUT INTO RESEARCH FOR THIS CONDITION BY SIGNING THE PETITION BELOW..
