I must admit to minding Makka Pakka quite cute - and I did have the Upsy Daisy song in my head last night - but I still hate it!

Does everything have to be educational? I think not, it obviously has entertainment value for certain 'Little Ones' , Ols being one, do you only watch documentaries yourself when you watch the TV? once again, I think not.

As Lynie said it's 'filled with rhythm, rhymes, colours, pattern' and to add to that , it's safe

im glad ols likes it; lily isnt bothered

we dont watch a lot of tv so this is another thing we wont watch

children watch tv for different reasons to adults anyway

we are all entitled to our opinions-im sure in yrs to come some will remember it with fondness

Still havent seen it lol.. Im so lucky lol Im with Jopsy though, adults use TV for different reasons to children. I rarely watch it, nor does Joshua. I dont like tv! So when he does watch the tv I prefer it to be for a reason not random so he'll sit quietly or whatever. He has dvd's which like Cars, is not educationally based, he watches those for entertainment as I think they are suitable, also follows a moral story which I like.

I dont think TV has to be educational by any means. However I try to be quite strict with Eds TV time so if he's watching I like him to get something out of it.

One thing on this that worries me slightly is the language as Eds speech is slightly behind anyway I dont want him now learning 'nonsence' words.

As with anything its all down to personal opinion but I wont watch teletubbies either!

Madz!  How can you not watch teletubbies?!?!?! lol  I never let the kids see it, but I love them! Sad I know but I live in the middle ofnowhere!  Both the little ones seem to like the night garden, and to be honest even the older 3 are quite happy to babysit the lo's with cbeebies on!  If it keeps them happy and it's safe the why not!  As for the teletubbies, there was an absolute outcry about that when it first started too!
