Yep, we did it to Max when he was 4 weeks old.  He was a terrible sleeper, and we had a bad time with him as a newborn and so just to keep our sanity we left him asleep in his car seat at the end of the bed.  I felt so guilty that I blurted it out to my mate who's a paediatrician, and she just laughed and said as long as he's OK what's the problem.  He's not scarred for life!  Haven't had to do with Tom. He's a fantastic sleeper.  Don't feel guilty Greedy. I'm sure Ellie got a good nights kip and so did you.  Zo xxx

I did this with Harrison as he siuffered with really bad colic and its the only way he would go off to sleep. they do only reccomend lo's stayiong in carseat for no longer than2hrs as apparently it gives the spine a curve but this would only happen in done each and every day if its helps get u some sleep n much needed rest then do it a couple of times wont hurt it would proberbly be of more benefit!

I did it with Ryan once but refused to do it again, already had too many bad habits and did not want to create another.

I'm sure the odd occasion will do your daughter no harm, and if it means you get some valued rest it can't be a bad thing.

i had to do this when my lo was younger, he must have been teething or something coz he was usually a good sleeper. i also went out for a drive to calm him then left him in his seat once we got home it did him no harm. and as for the 2 hour rule i regulary drive down to c my brother in reading, berkshire, so joshua has to sit in his car seat for at least 4 hours and he shows no physical side effects x
