I am on my 3rd pregnancy and the worst one yet lol.  I have got no morning sickness but I get bad cramps and I have placenta previa.  I was wondering if anyone else is dealing with this and if it fixed itself.  I am only 12 weeks and go back on the 6th for my next appointment and they are going to do an ultrasound at 20 to see if it moved or not.  Right now I am suppossed to take it easy and not lift my 2 yr old and stay away from stress and get lots of rest.  I haven't been able to follow any of the instructions because I don't have any help.  Hubby is either at work or asleep until they call him.

Thank you for all the responses.

Kari

Hi hun, I'm a single mum to 4 children, I'm also pregnant with my 5th.  I had my scan last week (I'm 22+3 now) and I too have placenta previa.  When you're on your own its hard not to lift thing and rest but all I can suggest is take it as easy as possible.  I have another scan at 34 weeks to find out if mine has moved up or not.  It's said only 10% of placenta previa cases dont change.  As your uterus grows it grows upwards therefore taking the placenta with it.  Besides the placenta problem I also have to take it easier due to having only 2 vessels in the cord rather than the usual 3.   Having 4 children and getting no help does make it difficult sometimes but our bodies are much stronger than we think.   I really hope everything goes well for you and things move as they should.

I was told I had placenta praevia with two of my pg's however it turned out one was, and the other was just what I was told to humour me as I had complications at the end!  There is not much you can do if you are coping with your 2 yr old by yourself.  But I would strongly suggest you follow the advice as best you can.  Encourage your lo to walk rather than be carried. Teach them how to climb the stairs safely themselves and be right behind them.  In alot of cases the placenta doesn't actually 'move' out of the way it's attached to the side of your uterus, and because that grows, it moves up because of that.  There are alot of complications with having placenta praevia which is why they suggest rest, and avoiding stress, but one thing that you should be made aware of, is that if the placenta, doesn't move then a natural birth will be out of the question. I hope yours grows out of the way for you.  But it really isn't anything to worry about when they are keeping an eye on you.
