Hi all haven't been on for a few days as Ashleigh has a very high temp that i can't get to come down. Its been between a 100 and 104. I had to work over the weekend too so i'm shattered. Kept her dosed up on everything i can and nothing seems to shift it. She has slept just in her nappy and the room is very cold. Its the coldest room in the house and that hasn't made any difference. I'm now sponging her down every 20 minutes. Thats what the doc told me to do and take her in this afternoon. She had a heat rash yesterday from the temp. She is lethargic and her eyes are all sunken with great big bags. I just don't know what else to do now other than wait untill she sees the doc. I'm sure shes just got a virus but i hate seeing her like this and you can't do anything for her. Now Jamie-leigh is feeling left out and i can't seem to please either of them. I'm soo tired and i have a headache because i'm that tired...

Well i just hope the doc gives her something stronger and we can shift it. xxx

Hi Emma. Thanks for the welcome to the site.  It sounds like you've got a lot to handle there. I've just had a similar time with Jessica. She had D + V last week and was changing nappies and feeding every 5 minutes or so it seemed.  Doctor sent us to the hospital to get her rehydrated in the end.  She's a lot better now but I had a couple of days of worry.  Hope your little one gets better soon. Jo. x

Thanks hun. She seems to be picking up a little and playing with her sis. The calpol and sponging is probably helping. I just hope she is over the worse of it. She has good bits like this and then she just seems to drop again. Fingers crossed she is getting better. xxx

Ds has had this since friday, by friday afternoon we were at the dr's and by friday night we were at the hospital because his temp was 40+ and they told us to drive around with the windows open, to cool him down.

Today he is still running a temp but not that much so hopefully he will be back to normal soon.

I hope Ashleigh gets better soon as it is horrible to see them like this.

I can tell just from feeling her her temp has come down no end. I'm still gonna take her to the docs to get checked over. She still looks drawn in the face but is slowly getting back to her normal self. I'm more worried about her being dehydrated as her nappys aren't very wet. Plus she isn't drinking as much as normal either. Well i just think its more for my piece of mind now. She keeps saying hurts and pointing to her mouth. So i think she may have a sore throat and achy joints. I think she is milking it abit now too hehe...

I can't fault her. xxxx

Eds had this last week - his temp kept reaching 40 + and it was awful as he was burning up and shivering at the same time.

I alternated calpol and nurofen so I could give it more often and just did all the things you are doing. Some days he's seem much better then head straight back downhill in the evening and be bad again all night.

Its exhausting I know! Eds lasted Saturday til Wednesday and I was shattered but the end of it. Hes been left with an awful cold and he's teething too (very back teeth) so hes still not 100% but we're getting there.

Hugs to you all!

Thanks Madz i thought of you and Eds when she started with it. I can sympathise with the poor lad now bless him. Her temp has come down but now she is sleeping. Thing is she is jumping quite bad in her sleep which she doesn't normally do. I know its because she is poorly but i can't help but worry. I have never seen her like this before. When she got the rash i was scared but luckily i know the difference between a heat rash and menitise rash. I did do the tumbler test though just to be sure. I didn't take her to the hospital as i don't want to upset her more and waste their time by them telling me to do all that i am already doing. I just wish i could take it away from her and let me have it instead. Its hard as Jamie-leigh is fine and doesn't understand her sister is poorly and keeps bugging her. Hope Eds is over it very soon too hunny. xxxxx
