I was just curious how many people had heard of prolotherapy to treat SPD before? I certainly never had before I was offered it. I am about to join a maternity services leasion group at our hospital and want to know why people arent given all the facts so all information would be helpful.

I know pubic symphysis prolotherapy has given me new hope in my battle against SPD so I hope if more people are made aware we can fight this!

Hi Madz,

I was just thinking about you and wondering how you were getting on, and if you'd noticed any imporvement?

Regarding the Prolotherapy itself, as you know I had heard of it although I didn't know it was available in this country on the NHS.  I've been trying to save to get it done in the US.  You're right though, it should be more widely published as it's far less invasive than the plating, (I'd imagine it costs less to do) and it seems to have a more successful track record, (according to the clinic in the States anyway)..

This group sounds fantastic, I wish they would do something like that where I live as we really need to raise awareness of this - as far as the mw's, ob's etc that I saw in hosp are concerned, they probably think I'm another one who's 'got better after the birth' - how wrong could they be??

PS. Madz, would it be possible to put the link to the petition somewhere on your info posts about SPD? I just feel that a lot of people (esp newbies suffering from it) will look at it and it might give them some hope that we're trying to do something.
