As you might know, Rhona and I are newly qualified "community mums": we are part of a volunteer group who are on hand to help new mums with breastfeeding.
At one of our meetings recently one of the other volunteers said she had heard of a new product called "cooleze" (sp) for sore nipples.
Has anyone heard of this product? They were saying it works better than regular nipple cream?
I was wondering if it was a bit like the cooleze packs for headaches?

Not heard of that one. I used the Avent one at first, as you don't need to emove it to feed, and when I got really sore, I used Kamillosan, which worked wonders!

I've not heard of it either, but having said that although I can't remember the name of the one Mumsam recommended when I was breast feeding Winston, it was a fantastic one. Even with stopping breast feeding it took me a while before my nipples looked healed, however they felt fine after just a couple of days! Mumsam has done me wonders with my 2, it seems everything she recommends works! Thanks Sam.

Awww Vix
Never heard of it Lynie I used Lasinoh which is the only nipple cream that midwives are allowed to endorse as it has been proven to work in clinical trials. The Avent nipple cream is very similar to lasinoh but seems to be thinner I found that very good when I was pregnant as it stopped my nipples cracking but for any problems I sware by Lasinoh every time.

Yup, I used Lasinoh too, and it's great for any kind of dry skin complaint too!
These cooleze things are supposed to take the burning out of grazed nipples, and are supposed to be more effective than the "cabbage in the bra" trick!

Is it meant to stop engorgement then as that is what cabbage in the bra is used for. I never really suffered with engorgement after my first baby. Is it a cream or a spray?
