I have never been able to get my kids to eat anything fishy. To be honest I'm not a fan of it myself, but I know it's important to eat it for children especially.

The other day I made a tuna pasta bake, not expecting them to eat any of it as they won't even touch tuna in a sandwhich, but they ate so much of it, there wasn't enough left for my dh when he got home from work!

Has anyone got any other ideas for getting them to eat fish?

Yup, we are having fish tonight - cod loin steaks in a creamy cheese and chive sauce.  Fish in parsely sauce or butter sauce goes down really well too, just buying the frozen boil in the bag ones and serve with mash, cauliflower and broccoli too, my son loves it - come to think of it - we all do!!!

Fishcakes, battered fish, chips and peas too, fish pie - the list goes on and on!!  Have a look in the fish freezer aisle in your local supermarket - they should also do a range of products for kids too.  HTH xxxx

It depends on what sort of mood Maddie is in.  Last night we had poached salmon and she hardly touched a thing but the other day she tried some of DH's hot smoked Mackerel and ended up eating nearly the entire tin.  She has her moments with Tuna and she does like cod and will also eat smoked haddock kedgeree but not too keen on chip shop fish or fish fingers.  It really does vary depending on what kind of day she is having as well, sometimes she eats rings around her and other she isn't too bothered with food at all.

She will also eat as much smoked salmon as she can get her mits on regardless of what sort of days she is having.

Very contrary child

Both of mine are fish lovers.

They love the birds eye steam fresh cod in 3 cheese and leek sauce.
They also like smoked haddock, Harry has the occasional sushi bite, when I'm having it.

You can buy so many different sauces to go with fish nowadays you'd be suprised.  Tomato based fish sauces unsually go down well.

My older boys eat tuna by the tin, so much so you'd think I owned the place it gets done! lol I have just recently tried Winston and Fred with the fish in butter sauce with caulif, apuds and broccoli, and they ate it (see the they ate my cooking!)  I will eat the battered fish from the chippy, and cooked to almost burnt at home, but besides taht I won't touch it! lol
