It's been 4 weeks since my 20 weeks scan and the idea of having placenta previa is still playing on my mind.  Everyday I have a pain at the top of my pelvic area, it there when I stand, walk, turn over in bed etc and I dont know if its the placenta causing it.  It is manageable so I dont worry about it but if it is due to the placenta being there I'm worried it's a sign that its not moving up to where it should be.

I cant afford for it not to move, being on my own with 4 kids (5 after the birth), I wont be able to do everyday things if I've had to have a c.section.   dont have anyone who will take the kids for a few weeks whilst I recover and it terrifies me.

Has anyone else had this problem, did you feel any differently during your pregnancy to make you feel it was moving to where it should.  The only way I can explain the feeling is what we all complained about at the end of our pregnancy's, waddling to ease the tension, heavyness in the lower areas etc.

aww jen maybe get checked out again and see if its moving you shouldnt and dont need this sort of stress at the moment, im not 100% but there was somethin wrong with my placenta my pain never started till around 7.5 months and i had molly 2 weeks early through c-section i think my placenta had been gradually comming away which caused a big bleed thats why molly needed to be delivered asap, if its any consulation i got over my c-section very quickly i was even able to leave hospital early i know were all different though, hope all is o.k. xx jue xx

I know you suspected you had SPD at one point and the pain you are describing could be that. Mine started as pressure on my pelvic area and I had to 'waddle' to ease the pain.

If you are concerned call your mw - thats what shes there for.

The doctor diagnosed SPD quite early on but I was getting a lot of back pain and pain in my pelvis and hips all at the same time.  I still have those problems but this is slightly different, the pain is very low down under my bump.  I'm fine when I'm sat down its when I'm moving about it gets worse.  I'm taking codine and paracetamol but it doesn't really touch it, the worst is getting up and down the stairs and getting out of bed.
