Whenever Travis does a poo in his nappy he says "Nappy, like it" and shakes his head/frowns.

I know this may not mean he is ready, but is this a sign he's nearly there.

Please if you have any comments or books on how to start potty training, tell me.  I'm dreading the potty training part!

We have started leaving the potty around the house here and also at Lily's chidminders just so she gets used to seeing it around

She has sat on it a few times and says pee pee when she points to it but hasn't quite connected the two yet

I haven't used any books for potty training so can't recommend any sorry!

It sounds really weird but I can't really remember how I trained Ellis  she just led me really!

xxxxxxxxxx

Sounds like he's getting there

Asda/toys r us have a nice wee book called potty training for boys (they do a girl 1 too) & its a little board book with the story of a boy learning how to use the potty. I got it for Ryan about a year ago along with a potty, he still hasnt ever used the potty tho

svannah hated her potty and cried if i sat her on it, on monday i left her without a nappy and shes now fully potty trained even use it for number 2's i took her in the car yesterday and she didnt wee until we got my friends house(on the potty) and she didnt wet in the car on the way back.

im going to leave her at night thou until shes dry.

svannah never showed me any signs that she was ready i just thought now its warm il take her nappy off and see whats she like, maybe travis is ready hun just leave his nappy off for the day with the potty in sight and see how he gets on.

I didnt use any books, actually i didnt even own a potty. Joshua definitly led me, took his nappy off one day, didnt want one back on and that was that. After he took it off he wee'd on the main toilet, I put him in underpants (never really saw the use of pull ups) and he has been in the since.

I guess when they are ready, they are ready. If he is showing signs id definitly let him lead you. Joshua wasn't even 2 when he was dry, once they understand it they want to go for it!

Eds is at that stage. If he does a poo or his nappy is wet he says 'Bum poo' or Bum weewee' and pulls at his crotch (lovely when in company!) He will ask to sit on the potty or on his toilet seat and says weewee and makes a weeing noice but has only wee'd once or twice. I'm waiting for him to lead me as I am also dreading it but personally I dont use books for guides as I think kids all respond differently.
