My dp and I have spent ages getting our son into a routine. He's pretty good at going to bed at night now. The only thing is, I go back to work soon and some evenings i'll be starting work before dp gets home so ds will be at someone elses house for a while and it'll go past his usual bedtime. If we follow the routine but later do you think he'll be ok with it? and sometimes he'll be up much earlier than he normally is, as both my dp and I work day and night shifts.

Also We've been waking him up at 7am (all part of the routine)(feeds are every 4hrs between 7am and 7pm) and sometimes he blatantly isn't ready to get up. He does still wake up some nights for a feed. At what age can we start leaving them to sleep and feed them when they wake up, without it going back to demand feeding? Am very confused. Pls Help.

Hi hun keep him in the routine you have him in. He will get used to the change. If he is still waking in the night then he still needs that feed. Is he on solids yet? He will drop the nightly feed when he is ready. If he isn't on solids yet you might find he will drop this as soon as he is being weaned.

Like i said just keep him in a good routine and the rest should follow. With work and stuff he should get used to what days are what. xxx

He's been on solids for a month now.

We were advised by the hospital to start then due to his reflux. He sleeps theu most nights, which is a godsend. i'm just worried he's going to get very confused due to the time changes on some of the days. Plus i need to find a nursery that'll have him for a day a week but not the same day. As we do shifts the days roll on. That'll hit his little system hard, bless him. He's also a hard one to feed. I'm just worrying about everything which isn't doing any of us any good.
