My SPD is getting worse and I dont know how I'm going to cope as my pregnancy develops.  I'm only 26 weeks and already struggling day to day.  It took me 10 minutes to get out of bed this morning and I had to come down the stairs on my bum.  I live 5 minutes from school but have to set off 15 minutes before I'm due there because I have to walk at snail pace.  I'm trying to run around after 4 kids by myself and I'm terrified of things getting any worse.

I've been refered for physio but not yet heard anything and the painkillers dont work.  Is there anyone with any ideas that will help ease the pain, even slightly?

Aww i totally sypmathise with you Jen!

Give the physio a call and explain the situation as it is now and see if they can push you up the list to get seen faster. Go to the gp or if you have one, your consultant and ask what pain relief is available to you, because they must be able to up your dosage now the pregnancy is viable.

Have you tried silky pj's? They really help rolling over in bed, and also "sliding" off bed lol.

Do things at ur own pace, leave the housework...it isnt that important! Just do bits as and when you can. Rest when possible! Is there any family or friends who can come support you or maybe help out for a few hours in the day? Maybe someone to collect the kids from school?

Just tryin to think of anything that might save you moving about too much!

I highly recommend a soak in radox muscle soak bath stuff, it wont cure the problem but it is so relaxing and i was able to have a pain free hour or so...Water is excellent for spd pains!

I know it's hard, but please keep your chin up! Push for the physio and painkillers, take every bit of help you can get! xxxx I hope you feel a little relief soon xxxx

Thanks hun, unfortunately I dont have anyone who is able to help me at any time.  Cleaning the house is difficult and I get as much done as I can manage.  If I havn't heard from the physio by early next week I'll contact them and find out how long I'll be waiting.  I get a little relief pushing the buggy on a flat surface as I put my weight on it but going up hills is hell.

I have used the bath as a relaxer but the discomfort returns as soon as I try and get out, lol.  (that can be a sight and a half)
