Who elses lo suffers from excema? i knew it was quite common because grew up with it (mine is stress related, started wen i was 5)& both my brother & sister hav it. Dp also suffered infantile excema until 6 months but he still has sensitive skin & Ryan developed it at about 8 weeks old.

Iv know quite a few people in life with it 2 & there seems 2 b many different forms (dry skin, flaky skin, rashes etc). Me & my siblings hav the type that breaks out in rashes whereas Ryan has really dry skin of both sides of his face & around his neck which looks raw most days. How would u describe ur los excema & wot do u use 2 treat it?Also where does lo hav it worst?

I use Diprobase cream & bath additive but im not seeing any benefits yet. I tried oilatum 1st & it burnt Ryans skin so he now has a nasty scar on his neck (thankfully thats the only place i put it or it could hav been much worse) then we tried aqueous cream which did nothing for him. I will keep trying until we find something that helps him.

Fran had quite bad baby exzema and it still flares up now and then.  I also suffer from patches of exzema.  Ollie has a small patch on his left cheek, which is more teething related than anything I think.  My sister and my father also have exzema.

I found with Fran most creams and ointments made is worse not better, I put an old sock full of porridge oats in her bath and that clears it up for her.

Harrison has excema he starts with a rash then in turns into dry blotchy patches we use junior oilatum bath liquid and 1%hydrocortizone cream (sp) for him and it seems to clear up after a few days he has about  on average 2 outbreakes a month as far as im aware no other family members suffer with it!

The oilatum bath works for h but he says the cream stings him so we dont use it anymore

i have both excema and psoriasis-both quite bad!

i thought lily had baby excema but the doc told me los just get dry skin! 

her skins ok usually but i put that grey pot of cream on!

My nephews all have excema and the eldest had the same reaction with oilatum. Sis now uses an aloe vera soap and aloe vera jelly on them - and the results were amazing!!! Its not cheap, by a company called Forever Living Products, but it really, really worked for her 3.

I've started using the soap on Ella's hair. She had really bad cradle cap, and this has cleared it up a treat. You don't need much either so it lasts for ages.

It looks like ellen may have a little as she has bad skin on her belly.  Its quite rough and red gonna get it checked out by h/v.

Its so common but its all related too hayfever and asthma and i have both.

svannah has had it since birth too i use diprobase and hydrocortizone the diprobase is rubbish and ive not seen a diff but the hydro is good but as its a steroid u cant use it to often!

she has the rash over most of her body except her face

Think Tom may have it.

We're seeing the hv tomorrow so should know for sure.

The only family member who has it is my sister.
