I have just had a call from my GP, to say that my blood tests are finally back and that he would like me to go in at 5pm to discuss them.

A couple of months ago my dad was diagnosed with haemochromotosis, which is a condition derived from having a extremely high build up of iron in the blood, which can damage the liver and the heart, plus make areas of the body go rusty, his eyes are already effected. He was tested to see which strain of the condition he had, and it showed that it was a genetic strain, and that me and my siblings would have to be tested.

So far my brother and younger sister seem to have come back clear, although its not sure if they had the right test. Jen is yet to have the test.

Im nervous, but I have no idea why lol I cant change the result. Although there is no real treatment and no cure, I no there are things I can do to prevent it, and of course earlier they know if any of us have it then the more they will be ready to treat the symptoms. Oh well guess I will know in an hour or so lol

You'll have to let me know what is said.  I'm terrified of being tested but they wont do it for another 2 weeks when I have my 28 week pregnancy bloods done.  I really hope you dont have the condition and nor do any of us.

Good luck hun, tx me and let me know straight away xxx

Pmsl.. sure I'll text you as Im coming back, mum wants me to ring her.. I bet they havent even done the right test lol None of the other doctors so far have lol Your MW/ Dr didnt even get the right condition rofpmsl

If we have or havent got it we cant change it. But if they think Im giving up alcohol at the age of 24 they can think again lol I'd have another 25 years before the condition will start to damage the liver rofpmsl

Good luck with the results hope it's all clear.

Will you have to have Joshua tested if it's positive? Or will they wait until he's much older?
