I cant wait, I have my first physio appointment at 11.50 today.  The pain is getting worse by the day now though it is what I expected as I'm in the 3rd trimester, I'll be 28 weeks tomorrow.  I'm just hoping for some sort of relief even if it's small so I can continue with this pregnancy and get through the birth without too much more disruption to my routine.  I'll let you know how I get on when I get home.

Well, I'm back and it was the worst thing I've ever done.  I'm in agony, can barely walk, sit, stand, I'm struggling to do anything.  They told me it was the left side at the back that was the main cause of the problem, it sticks instead of moving freely and The pubis synthisis (sp?) is slightly disalligned.

She said that there is a very high chance it will continue to worsen as time goes on.  She recommended a support belt but we have to buy then and they cost an arm and a leg and I'm not prepared to spend that sort of money for a few months on the chance it wont work.  Also she said as I have my hands full she'll give me an excercise to do and we will continue treatment with phone conversations.  What aload of tosh!

To put it in simple terms, it was a huge waste of time and I'm alot worse now than I have been, I'm on my own and I'm going to have to suffer for the next 3 months, I wish I had never bothered!

ARGH! What a load of rubbish!

Sorry Jen but thats just pants - she has no idea what she is talking about. The support belt should be free, it may not work (it didnt for me) but you should get the chance to try. I gave mine away or I'd let you have it.

The exersises are fair enough and its worth doing them but dont make it hurt more than it already does, its not a condition you should push.

As for not seeing her... my physio realigned my pelvis every 2 weeks when I was pregnant as it was misaligned. Also if one side was worse she recommended getting an instep for my shoes so it corrected the problem.

Go back to your gp. Are you on pain relief? You CAN get some and it WONT harm your baby. Dont suffer unnessesarily.

If you need to sound off PM me, I'll happily talk you through everything and anything. I understand everything you are going through.

Sending huge hugs hun xxx

Thanks Madz, I was given a leaflet to walk away with, or hobble by the time she'd finished.  I had to lay down on my side while she played about with the left side of my hip, it was fine while she did it, but hurt like hell when I had to get up.

The leaflet gave me a small list of websites where I can purchase the belt, the cheapest was £30.  The only excercise I was given is putting my left leg on the stairs and bending foward 5 times.  I'm already on paracetamol and codine but it doesn't help and to top it all off my DF really dont give a S*** and still wont come and help me out because mummy dont like me.

I have to hide the tears of pain when the kids are around and it's really getting me down now.

Aww Jen I know how you feel! I had to buy a support belt as they dont give them away anymore. I have a website addy that is cheaper than £30

http://www.physiosupplies.com/acatalog/Maternity_Belts_and_M aternity_Supports.html

Hope that helps a bit, I know what a pain it is and I am disgusted by your physio, mine was great, she explained it all to me showing me what had happened with a pelvis and spine model.

Thanks ladies.  What belt did you chose, there are so many different kinds and does it help much?
