I had an ERPC (evacuation of retained products of conception, or D&C) 2 weeks ago following a miscarriage and am still bleeding. The information that the hospital gave me said that bleeding could happen for 7-10 days, but as I'm on day 14 I wondered if anyone else had experienced this?
Its light and sporadic. 2 days after the op, I thought it had stopped but then its stopped and re-started ever since. It varies from light and only when I wipe (sorry TMI) to more like the start of a period. Sometimes I need a pad, sometimes a liner will do, and sometimes its more like a discharge. Its actually like it was before I had the op whilst I was still pregnant.
I've been to the nurse with Ella this morning and mentioned it to her and she said if it was still happening this time next week (3 weeks post op) to see one of the GPs as I may need a scan to check that everything has come away. I just wondered if anyone else had been through this and what their experiences were?

When I MC everything happened naturally, I didn't have the need to have a D&C, but after I had the scan to say everything had gone I still bled for 4 weeks. It was on and off and usually light but it still carried on. I was checked over and everything came back clear. Everyone is different and I'm sure all is fine. All you can do is take the advise to go back in a weeks time if it hasn't all settled down for you.
