This morning Edward and I have been 'playing' on the computer. We've been on the noddy website as Eds has a new found addiction to Noddy. We've also been on the Thomas and Friends website and the Cbeebies website.

As well as printing off pictures for him to colour this afternoon we've also been playing the games. They are often educational and its been lovely to watch him interact. At this age he doesnt have the skills to use a mouse but I've been getting him to point at things for me to click. For example shape finding, choosing colours, counting etc.

I have to say I was quite enjoying the bob the builder game myself.

Do any of you use the computer to teach?

I let Taylor go on cbeebies, thomas and postman pat websites, he really enjoys playing the games, which are very educational. I have printed some pics off for him to colour in and he enjoys that too.

I have bought him a thomas and a clifford cd which has lots of games, teaches counting, putting things in order, shapes etc.. i really do think he has learnt a lot from playing on the websites and cd's..

i do limit the amount of time he is on the pc tho, make sure he takes a break after 30 mins or so.

hi! my ds is 2 and he loves the pc.  since he was a baby i would sometimes sit with him and let him go on the knee bouncers website and the fisher price and barney sites etc.  now he can work his way around a pc (mainly) and goes into favourites and clicks on his favourite toddler sites.

i am convinced that the reason he knows his letters so well etc is because of the fisherprice alphabet site.  its definately a good learning tool for kids, and in this day and age everything is computer related so it can't do them any harm.

unless they spend all day on the computer that is and turn into square eyed antisocial little geeks!

Natasja goes on the puter a lot, but I do restrict the time that shes on.  She gets about 2 hours per week during school nights on the puter...at weekends shell sit with her brain training ds thingybob for an hour or so and shes as happy as larry.  Isla however, well, she knows how to do my mums puter, get msn up on mums puter, talk to granpa via the headphones etc and whatever else mum and isla get up to on the puter.

Both my two love the puter and are happy as larry pottering about.  Its easier to keep their times separate..or else there are a few world wars going on lol
