I would request strongly that they test your blood!  I know when I came off the injection I had all the symptoms of being pg, in fact in all honesty (and yes I do feel awkward on this one) I actually believed I was and had a phantom pregnancy, only stopping thinking I was when I had a scan for other reasons at what I would have called 7 months gone.  I had even grown in size too!  Definitely worth a trip to the docs and sort it all out!

Hi thanks for your reply I have asked my doctors on a number of occasions for a blood test they wont do it they say the home tests are very accurate and if they are negative then its highly unlikely Im pregnant! My problem with this is my friend did numerous tests and was seeing her doctors for months feeling like she was getting no help only to see her family doctor on a trip home to south Africa to find out she was 6 months pregnant!!!!! I know thats rare and unlikely to be whats going on here but theres nothing like knowing for sure!

There is a very very rare condition where some women don't release HCG Beta which is what the home pregnancy test looks for instead they release I think HCG Alpha which would show negative.  I would think that what is happening with you is the pill has totally messed your system up.  I think in your shoes I would come off all chemical birth control and use a barrier method and charting method to avoid pregnancy if you are not wanting to conceive.  It doesn't have to be condoms you could try the diaphragm which is easy to use and once you have had a fitting you control it.  You can put it in early in the evening and forget about it if you think you will have sex that night so it won't spoil the moment like a condom would.  It also does not spoil sensation like a condom can.  I personally would stay off all chemical birth controls for 6 months to let my body sort itself out.  Also I would take a good vitamin and mineral supplement to make sure I was getting all the vitamins my body needed (if you are unsure if you are pregnant then use a pregnancy vitamin supplement as Vitamin A in normal vitamins is not good for a fetus).

You should maybe also ask if you can see a gynae dr to make sure all is well and put your mind at rest.

Thanks for your reply that all sounds like very good advice! I have had tests for any possible gynae problems last year so all should be well in that department

! I was tempted to get some vitamins the other day and didnt just incase there was the smallest chance I could somehow be pregnant I did think of buying the pregnancy ones thinking it may help with problems im having even if im not pregnant but thought OH would have a panic attack!

I have booked an appointment with my normal doctor (shes been away so have had to see other doctors recently) shes not back until the end of the month so have to wait until the 29th but that means Ive given it another cycle since I last went like last doc wanted, and if she agrees (which she didnt last time I mentioned it but it is up to me anyway I guess!) I can come off the pill at the end of my pack!

Thankyou all again its so nice to have people to talk to and not feel so much like a freak I really wonder when I go to docs if they think im a hypocondriac (sp ) or something!

They may well think you are a hypachondriach but after the experience I have had this last week push until they listen.  They have a duty of care to you and you are entitled to know what is wrong with you if anything.  Don't give up and stand your ground until they do something.  Goodluck x

Thankyou, I intend to! Although I am thinking of just coming off the pill any way cant do any harm, will still go and see doctors but may come off pill straight away (got to speak to OH first!) will it be worse to come off mid cycle or not make much difference?

As you seem to be having a few problems anyway with your cycle I would complete this cycle of pills then come off if that is what you want to do.  No point in confusing your body anymore than it already is. hth

Makes sense I figured with everything being all over the place already it probably wouldnt matter and am so fed up with the feeling sick tired and my boobs are agony, ive even reverted to wearing a sports bra and thats still not helping, but id just as well to wait and see docs first, will be easier to convince OH if the doctor thinks its a good idea!

I know how tough men can be but please dont worry too much about your OH. He may kick up a stink about whatever he likes but at the end of the day it is your body and your decision. Remember that!

I must sound like a right woose  last time we spoke about it he wasnt very keen but said it was my body and up to me but was clearly not happy about it and his mum went on about it not being an option!! But I know it is my body and my decission and have made my mind up!

Have just read somewhere that monthly bleeds through pregnancy are more likely if you are taking the pill anyone know if this is true?
