I have recently joined.  I stumbled across the website whilst looking for some information regarding miscarriages.  I had one 5 weeks ago and I am still bleeding!!!  Mentally I think I'm doing ok but I feel that I can't fully move on until the bleeding stops and I can finally put it all behind me.  I already have a little boy who's 20 months old and as me and my husband are both 37 we don't really have time on our side.  We're not giving up though we are going to try again.

Have just seen your saying hi post, I'm glad that you found us!

I had a miscarriage 4 weeks ago, and I'm still bleeding too. I started to bleed at 5 and half weeks pg, but the miscarriage took 4 weeks to confirm (it was a missed miscarriage where the sac etc developes but the baby doesn't). I've been bleeding since and have just found out that I have a womb infection, probably as a result of the ERPC.

Excuse the personal question, but are you getting any discharge as well as the bleeding? If so, it might be worth seeing your GP just to get it checked out.

I'm 35 and my husband is 39, we have 1 daughter whos 2 and at the moment, although I'd like to try again, I'm not sure when I'm going to be ready. We do have some mums on here who've had children in their late 30s and early 40s so don't be put off.

Hi, welcome to Madmums.  I had a miscarriage last saturday I lost identical triplets.  I also had a missed miscarriage in December last year.  We have a little boy who was 2 in March.  We are going to try again too.  I am 38 this week and my partner will be 40 later this year.  I agree with feeling time isn't on our side.  The dr did tell me last week though we still have a 90% chance of a healthy pregnancy next time.  When I had the ERPC in December I bleed on and off until I ovulated 5wks later then the bleeding stopped.  This time having a natural miscarriage I bleed very heavily but a week later the bleeding has stopped almost completly already.  As you are going to be trying again make sure you continue to take your pregnancy vitamins with folic acid and iron this will help get your strength back too.  Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
