aw well done chris hun,youve done exactly the right thing,and explaining things to josh in a way he understands is good too,he should know that if he ever has any questions your v willing to answer them and be open with him coz as he gets older he questions may arrise and aslong as he knows he can come to you thigs will be fine chik,well done in taking this massive step and you seem to know your plans v well. tc xxx

I must admit I cried when I read this! Poor Joshua!! If Justin was any sort of a man he wouldn't want his son to go through this! But good for you!! I hope you managed to sort everything out legally and that neither of you have to see or hear from this selfish man ever again! Like you said, Joshua doesn't need a daddy like him, he just needs the wonderful mummy he has!

aww chris - it sounds to me as if youve done the right thing - joshua doesnt need to be let down in his life and justin sounds as if thats all he does, you do a terrific job on your own hun ive seen that for myself. this is justins problem and his own loss a shame as alot of men would die for a child as cute and as bright as joshua - wish you all the luck in the world jue xx

From reading your post, I think that you have done the right thing. To a child everything is black and white - either it is or it isn't. So either his Dad is his Dad or he isn't.
We've gone through the same kind of thing with my mil. It's far too long a story to tell except that she has burnt her boat and as long as I have a breath left she will never see my son.
Also one of my cousin's went through this with her ex. She later met another fella and he has brought her son up as his own and he calls him Dad too.
