For once had actually left the doctors glad I went, I got to see the doctor I know and like as she is now back off leave, she was very helpful she agreed with me coming off the pill to see if things settle down and said she thinks I have become very sensitive to the progesterone in the pill, if this is the case the only contraception she would recommend is the coil as she thinks barrier methods are too risky on theyre own. If coming off the pill settles things down I will consider the coil but its not a method of contraception ive ever been keen on.

I have finally gotten her to see that pregnancy is sometimes still a possibility if the urine tests are negative, she wants me to bring a first morning sample in for a lab test but says if that is negative and im still having the same symptoms she will try and get me a blood test, she says they are very expensive and other then ectopic pregnancies the labs dont like doctors to offer them but she will try and get me one if my symptoms continue. I still think it is very unlikely I am pregnant, but am still putting on weight and my clothes are getting tighter round the waist despite me trying to eat healthily so I would like my mind put at rest!

I'm glad you got on ok at the docs. At least if they do the water sample, it will give you some sort of result and put your mind at rest

Aww hun i hope you get this sorted soon. There is nothing worse than sitting around guessing. At least now you will feel like things are getting done. There are different types of Coils. Why don't you have a read up on them that way if you do decide to have one you have an idea which might be best for you.

Well let us know how you get on. xxxx

Hi, thanks for all your replies! The doctor has given me some info on coils, and I would have to have the ones without hormones but going to have a resonable break from the pill first and see how that goes.

I took my last pill monday, obviously it must still be in my system for the 7 pill free days as I am still covered then but how long will it take to leave my system?

Hmmm as its a synthetic hormone thats in the pill.  Youve stopped taking it, it wont take long for it to clear your system.  Its then just up to your body to work out what its 'levels' should be.  Hormones are a pain in the bum, and the bane of my life lol.  But, tbh I think it takes about 6 months for everything to be all regulated out and your body to know what its doing again.

Good luck with the coil chica, but yeah, give your body a break for a bit so it can work out what its doing

Thanks for the reply Steph! I am hoping to give my body a good 6 month break at least to see how everything levels out if my OH can last that long, but he has been beter and more suportive about it then I thought he would be!

lol...is no probs...good for you chica...

Itll be a rough 6 months though, til your cycle is all sorted out, unless you are a lucky one who are as regular as clockwork lol.  Mind you, not being 'covered' so to speak ahem is nerve wracking at times especially if you dont want to have anymore just yet.

Am glad your blokey chap is being supportive..see we dont give them enough credit at times..well, not enough for them to get a massive ego anyway lol.

I havent been off the pill since I was about 13 (for bad skin) so have no idea how my cycles would be normally will just have to wait and see how things pan out I guess!

We dont have any children yet so a little accident is something OH is quite concerned about but if it happened it wouldnt be the end of the world, we will be as careful as we can be, all we can do! Think the irregular cycles until all sorts itself out will be extra worrying though!

Best to air on the side of caution nothing worse then boosting their massive egos too far!

Just to update got pregnancy test results back from doctors which where negative as expected, now have to decide whether to call and push for blood test although after speaking to my mum who has poly cystic overies am wondering about asking for an internal scan I had a normal scan last year which was clear but my mum said hers only showed on a internal scan, could this have been because shes abit over weight or would that not make a difference? If they couldnt see clearly enough to rule it out they would have requested an internal scan, wouldnt they?
