Well the inlaw saga continues!  For obvious reasons ds1 has had to come home from mil's due to his GCSE's, and mil went to the shop on Sunday and had a fall.  Yesterday I took her up to A&E and after a couple of hours we found out why she was in such agony!  She has chipped her bone in her elbow.  They put a poxy sling on her, which didn't even support her arm, and sent her home, even knowing she was gonna be home alone with only a home help for an hour in the morning.  I asked the nurse while we were in and she is not allowed to drive. (i had to make sure) I was chuffed to bits, as she is under strict orders not to get i the driving seat!  My mom is taking her to the fracture clinic on Tuesday, but she has social services coming over to discuss something on Monday (occupational therapy or something like that), but seeing as she has had no oomph to do her washing etc it has piled up high!  I have managed to get 4 loads done today, took about 3 loads to my mom (bless her she has spent almost a week catching up on my things), and I will be going down tomorrow to make sure I can get loads more done!  I am having a blast filling her washer and getting stuff done, as I don't have the water to do it with mine.  The home help is fantastic and makes sure she takes her tablets, so I have started to sort he things out properly for her upstairs.  Anyone got any advice as to what to do about her arm.  I'm bothered she's gonna use it without meaning to and making it worse!

The only thing you can do is keep it in the sling well supported.  You don't want to put a tubigrip or bandage on it as that can restrict the blood flow which she needs for the bone to heal.  Hope things calm down a bit soon at least it sounds like she is getting some help at home from social services.  I hope she has a tumble drier so you aren't having to iron everything.  It's nice of you Mum to be helping out too.

The ironing is shared between mom and ds1 (I can't stand doing it but they can! lol) as for a drier, I will be getting one either tomorrow or Friday for her.  Fil was trying to get her one before he got too ill!
