I'm a scaredy cat so while my mum is staying with us this week, on Friday, we're going to try and potty train Ellie - that gives us 4 full days before she is back in nursery - altho they did say it doesn't matter to them how many accidents she has..
we are going to choose her some big girls knickers this afternoon and then on Friday, we're just not going to put a nappy on her and stay at home all day and see how we go...she will not go near the potty but we have had a few successes with the toilet so far..

Good luck.
I think eds will be ready this summer but at the moment hes still happy to walk around in a wet nappy (although not a dirty one). He knows a potty is for 'wee wee' and asks for a clean bum if he is 'pongy' and is more and more interested in all things toilet related. I dont think it'll be long before I'm joining you!

Ds statred last night with no more nappies for bed and was clean all night and even got up for a wee.
Dd has been potty training herself from the begining, it all started about two weeks ago when she asked for her nappy off, so i took it off and she wee'd in the potty and from then on whenever we are in in the house she has no nappy and has been completley dry aprt from a couple of accidents (when i forgot to get the potty out of the toilet,) she has also done No:-2's this week and even asked for her nappy off just as we were putting her to bed and went and done a poo.
I think my success with dd is from watching her brother, as i have done nothing diiferently to when i pottied trained ds, and he was a nightmare, still is when it comes to having a poo, that why i have stopped putting him in nappies for bed as he holds it all day long.

Aww goodluck. My girls are ok without anything on there bottom half but i find they still wee in their pants. Somehow i have got to get them to know the difference between pants and nappies.

I've already started Aimee whilst in the house. She's not quite ready but not too far away. She now wears pull ups rather than a nappy and the potty is openly availible for her. She'll have days where she'll use her potty constantly and other days where she just doesn't bother. I would have like to have had her done by the time Billy arrives but I'm so tired at the mo I know I'd struggle to keep up with all the accidents and having to dash for the loo's whilst were out.

Megan will gladly wear knickers all day, and keep them dry for about 4 - 5 hours. She won't sit on a potty, not for any amount of STUFF!! We did have a breakthrough with her though, she sat on a Disabled loo in Tesco's, she could see herself in the mirror and thought it was really clever, but she didn't wee in it. She wouldn't even sit on a toilet before then, and screamed the house down if you tried to put her on one! She has accidents, but she gets embarassed by it, so i'm hoping she will inform me that she needs a wee before just doing it.
She won't keep a nappy on either, she undresses herself to take it off!

I found both my boys prefered to go staright to the toilet when they needed to go. From a young age, both of them was scared stiff of the potty but when we got them a step to reach the toilet, they much prefered to stand up and do it... its just natural for boys that way isnt it! The girls on the other hand, were a complete nightmare to train. I tryed leaving them with no nappy or pants on in the 1st place, but that was a problem i found out when it came to putting pants on them. They couldnt distinguish the difference from the nappy and pants, so lots of accidents happened then, so i would suggest always putting pants on her even when you're in the house, just so she realises she is wet, but in a different way from nappies.

Think I'll be trying again soon with support of DP (hopefully!). When I tried earlier this year she was generally great with wees put just seemed not to realise poohs, so on the advice of hv and to the relief of DP i put her back in nappies. She asks now for a new nappy almost every time, even waking in the night for a dry nappy. Tried potty trainers earlier in the year in the hope of keeping up with the wees but very soon she just started treating them like nappies.
So yes, fingers crossed i'll be trying again soon.
Made me feels bad after DP took her for her developmental review and she was 9 months behind with her personal & social care. Normally I'm not one for comparisons.
Have to go and buy some new knickers again though as I know she's outgrown all but 3 pairs since we bought them.
