I have had 2 ganglions (fluid build ups) surgically removed from my left wrist. It has left me with a weakening in this wrist and I am aware of temperature/pressure changes in it (ie I can tell if we're gonna have a cold spell as my wrist aches). Over the past week my wrist has been quite sore and achey down to my ring finger and middle finger and on these joints too. I have had to remove my rings and it hurts to do too much.

I have joint problems anyway as I was diagnosed with mild Hypermobility following my SPD.

Does anyone have any experience of these sorts of probs? My mum and nan both have arthritic problems in their wrists. I'm seeing the GP next week but I'm worried its all starting so early in me (I am just 23).

Dp sister has arthritus in most of her body and was only young when she found out, she takes a cocktail of drugs now, but little exercise as there dog died, but when they had the dog she was much better as she had to move everyday to walk it, i think as long as you keep yourself motivated to move it's bearable but if you give up it can hit you quite hard.

Hi hun i have it in my right hip after an op. I have been having probs this week also and found it has been keeping me awake at times. They say the weather is meant to be cooling this week but to be honest i know dehydration causes more pain in the joints. I believe this to be my main problem. But winter is just awful for me and my hips. They say cod liver oil capsules are meant to help your joints too. But i have never tried them.

I do take cod liver oil.

The other thing to try is Glucosamine Sulphate (cheapest place for it is zipvit.com) my mum swears by it.

Madz, I have the same pains and complications following my wrist operation for the carpel tunnel I had earlier this year. I have permanent cramp like feelings, pains and aches in my fingers and I find it almost impossible to write with a pen and other minor motor movements although Im quickly learning to use my left hands for most things, and Ive mastered opening bottles hehe

Ive been prescribed painkillers and diclofenac, although they dont really help. My consultant is going to do an MR scan of the wrist after my appointment with the heamochromotosis specialist this week (my problems MAY be blood related).

Only things I can advise are sleeping with your wrist elevated, I dont know why but it does help, and it more often than not stops it waking you in the night. You could also ask for a splint, to support your wrist, but I find it difficult to do most things while wearing mine, I tend to opt for a sports support.

Hope your GP is able to give you some help and support, and that it settles for you xxxxx

I got diagnosed with rhuematoid arthritis in my knees at 14.  My left knee is a bum for it is all im saying..swells up to a huuuge scary size if ive done too much.  Hence why I dont do girlie shoes very often..cos i pay for it big style for at least a week.  Not a lot I can do except strap it up and take brufen.  I know about it when its getting cold..but most of the time im fine.

Cripes im falling apart lol...and im telling you now..this hospital is not getting my knee caps..theyve already had enough body bits from me lol...placenta..wisdom teeth..blood...boob..so they are not getting my knees lol
