For the last week or so, Ashleigh has been really panicking (sp?) everytime she does something in her nappy, then she seems fine after. I thought at first she was in pain, but I know she isn't, she seems scared.

I remember someone telling me that this was one of the first signs of being ready to use the potty, but when I put the potty anywhere near her, she runs a mile. She will not go anywhere near it.

She is fine playing with it and we've had it around since their 1st birthday, to get them used to it.

How am I supposed to potty train her when she's so scared?

hiya,id take her nappy off and when she gets like this, reassure her, hold hr,hug her,and when she wees be it allover you or the floor again just tell her its fine and show her....let her associate the feeling with wahts happening and shel realise theres no need to be frightened...dont make a fuss baout her having accidents on the floor, just let it happen and then when she realises its okay slowly introduce the potty to the equasion,it sounds silly and youl feel a prat but try weeing on the potty yourself to show her its okay,i did it!!lol

you have to think from their opint ov view, for 2yrs they have been weeing in anappy with no thought and now all ov a sudden they have to feel when they need it and conroll it and do it in a strange place, its a big change it takes some time

hth xxx
