I think it is a fairly common problem that children don't like to pooh on a potty.  My youngest daughter didn't like it but one day she went on the big toilet and I made a huge fuss of her and gave her a treat straight away and she did it on there from then on.  Have you tried using the toilet?

My eldest was like that! It got to be such a major issue, he ended up constipated, and the doc gave me a suppository for him.  He will do it in his own time and no amount of praise can make him go.  Leave him for a couple of weeks he'll let you know when he wants it, and just keep nappies in for now.  Make sure you give him a good break, while he knows it's something you want him to do desperately he won't do it!

hey hun dont worry, honestly.  my ds was exactly the same.  when he started nursery i told them bout the trouble we were having.i was so embarrassed, thought it was my fault.  they told me not to worry and within a week he was great, just picked it up off everyone else.  september may feel realkly close but in potty training terms it actually quite long off yet.  your lo may crack it before he starts nursery.  good luck hun, its awful doing this bit, i'm just going through it with number 3.  just remember you never see a teenager in nappies.

I'm going through the same problem with my wee one- He refuses to
poo anywhere but his nappy and he gets so worried and clingy
before he needs to go. He's 3 in September and I've tried rewards,
stickers, charts, going cold turkey with cotton pants and even the
Gina Ford "Potty training in one week book" - but he won't! He is in a
wee nursery and they are so lovely about it, seemingly wee boys are
notorious for this! I've resigned to the fact he'll do it in his own good
time, although I hope it's sooner rather than later!
