Thinking of you Greedy, and hope youre getting there even if its one step at a time.

Im in a quandry here too, as we are busy with our business and dh wants me to get a nanny to help with the kids, the older 3 are okay, but its our two youngest and April being 2 and sometimes awful with it, really takes it toll coping, well in fact its pretty impossible tbh

I really dont want someone else to come help with them, although I need it, we had a au pair years ago, and as they are only really meant to babysit and do very small helping jobs for pocket money, she just used to sit our then baby Ryan in front of the telly all day whilst she just read or slept!! I found this out a lot longer after! Plus she ate us out of house and home, thinking it was the norm to have 3 cooked meals a day!! So Im pretty scared of getting anyone else, although Im desparate for some help, guess its part of being a mummy we want to be able to do it ourselves.  My dh would never ever have the business to run and the kids with him, like I do but expects me to cope grrr!! I think its a man thing lol

big hugs, hope you have managed to get some sleep and maybe had a chat with your dp

luv s xxx

well after I posted this my DH found me in tears so I told him I thought I might have PND..he made me a brew and a piece of cake and took the girls out for 3 hours bless him, I made him sound really lazy and he so isn't, he does loads around the house and with the girls..

am lol'ing about the aupair suggestion - sounds like heaven (well not the one that eats and sleeps all day lol) but as I'm not even working and Ellie is in nursery 2 days a week, I don't think I could justify it!

DH did the night shift on sat night and I must admit I felt a lot better on sunday - I had a pretty stressful day yesterday but I have been getting a bit more kip as DH has been taking Hannah downstairs when Ellie gets up and I've stayed in bed..

I'm going to see how it goes over the next couple of weeks and get DH to do more nights and see how I feel then - and if its still bad, I'll go to see the docs..

thanks so much for all your replies, I don't know what I'd do without this site!

So glad to get to the end of these posts and hear you're feeling a bit better. Hope you manage to get a bit more sleep now. Definitely don't hesitate to talk to people if you feel depressed tho - there is lots of help, and no need to struggle on alone. I went to the doctor eventually, after struggling for months - I wish I had gone  a lot sooner.

Good luck - I hope things continue to pick up for you.xxx

Lack of sleep is the worst thing in the world!! Having not had a decent nights sleep in nearly 3 years I know eactly how you feel, and I just have the one insomniac child!Last year I thought that the reason I was down and feeling awful was just lack of sleep, but was told by my dr and hv that it was pnd. I wouldn't take anti-d's as I didn't really think I needed them, but took St Johns Wort instead. This helped me feel better, and now Ben'ssleeping better at last, I'm begining to get out of the fog!

Its amazing what even a bit of sleep can do! Hope you and dh can come to some sort of arrangement and you're feeling better soon x
