how soon after giving birth is the norm to have a period?
Jamie is 6 weeks on thursday, i only stopped bleeding 5 days ago, and today i have had cramps and a slight tinge of blood when i wipe.. so im guessing my af has kicked in already.. it just seems to soon to have one.
im sure with my last 2 kiddies it was nearly a month after the bleeding had stopped from the birth that i had a period.

There is no norm!  It sounds about right though from the amount of people I spoke to after my last 2!

Thats what happened with me after I had Ella. I bled for about 5 and a half weeks, 2 days clear then whamo - af turned up. It was really crampy too.

Hope its not too bad for you, and incidentally - OMG is it 6 weeks already?!

I bled for about 4 weeks after having Cerys, then about a week after the bleeding stopped I got really bad pains in my belly and started bleeding again.

Funny thing is that because Cerys had been delivered by C-section and I was bf her so I believed all the rumours about af not returning for months if bf I phoned the nurse at my doctors in a panic thinking something must be wrong with the c-section recovery. Felt very embarrassed when she suggested that it was af!!!
