Hello girls how are we all?

well as some of you will know me and dh are pushing the docs for help ttc now after 16 months of trying which started with him  going to give a sample at the hospital, however that was a week and half ago and we still have NOT got the results. Dh called his (old) doc to see  if he had received them and he was horrified that they had not come back (v angry).

I can't understand why it should take so long the tell you so many times that it has to be tested within an hour of being produced so y do they take up to 2 weeks to tell you the results?

Well on a  sort of positive note i have finally got an appointment to go see my new doc about getting blood tests to check my hormones (or something like that).

Not sure of the point of this post sorry

I hate when hospitals are like this!  Unless it specifies that the doc gets the results, it may be a call to the hospital is what is needed.  Other than that I can't suggest anything.  Good luck and hope your results come in loads faster for you!

Sorry you're having to wait - it's awful waiting for results of any test - this must be really hard for you. Hope Dr manages to chase the results up for you and you hear something quickly.xxx

Very odd that it's take so long for them to report it.  You're right they have to test them within an hour or they start to die which means it's pointless doing the testing on them.  They check them for motility (how fast and well they move) and the amount within a certain area which they then average I think and that gives you the sperm count.  I agree ring the hospital where you dropped the sample off too and ask where the results are.

Glad you are going to see your gp.  Do you know which blood tests they are going to start off with?  It might be a full blood count and thyroid check.  They can do certain blood tests through out your cycle too so they can make sure you are producing enough progesterone after you ovulate.

Good luck I really hope you get some answers and some medical support.  It took me 3 yrs to conceive with my 2nd daughter and I never found out why but it did happen in the end.  Tons of baby dust and fingers crossed.
