Sorry I'll apologise in advance but I need a 5 minute moan!

DP is away, I havent overdone things but I have been reasonably busy, but this morning I am in agony! My SPD flared up quite badly and I feel so rubbish as I really felt I'd been moving forward. For every other flare up there has been a reason, (Over doing it, period about to start, etc) but non of those things can be the reason with this. I have SO much to do today and I do need to do it as I'm then going to mums until Friday and I hate leaving the house a mess, especially when DP is coming home.

I slept really badly with the pain last night and eds woke me early. Hes been good but hes a bit hyper as he hasnt been out much this week (bloody weather) which isnt helping either.

I'm just about to take another painkiller and then make a start on some bits and pieces but I will take it easy!

I'm just sick of going 2 steps forward and 1 back all the time.

Can sympathise - it's very frustrating. I'm the same - get sudden flare-ups for no reason, as well as when I know I've over-done it. That's 11 years I've suffered with it now - since pregnant with Ruthie. It does niggle away most of the time tho. I was going to osteopath when up in Lossie, before we moved, which definitely gave me the most relief I've had for a long time. Very expensive tho. Think I'll have to find one down here shortly.

Try and do very little today (I know - easier said than done with wee one!). xxx

Big hugs hunny.. and please do take it easy, I'm sure dp will understand (and probably not even notice, being male!) if the place isn't as tidy as you'd like it.  He'd probably tell you himself to leave it!! as you know, you're health is more important than a tidy up - that can be done anytime, it's not going anywhere..

Oh Madz, please try to take it easy and not do too much , as Jen says I am sure dp won't mind if the house isn't tidy considering the pain you are in. Hopefully you can get some rest at your mums. Tke care xxxxxx

OMG i was just about to post the same thing. I was told i had spd when pg with david after i gave birth i was fine. the last few days i could cry with the pain. i can hardly move. David is a big boy and he wants lifted all the time. i know i shouldnt but i carry him on my hip all of the time.

My DH really dose not undrestand at all he makes faces when i say can you pick him up this time. Pain killers dont work do you think i shold go back to the docs? i went swimming on monday and i feel even worse i thought it would help it lol. when i need to stop i feel like my DH thinks i am at it.

Madz i hope you are feeling better soon sending big hugs x

omg, you most certainly are not alone. i know that katie is only 10 weeks old but i am still struggling and cannot consider coming off the meds. like you madz period really magmifies it, in fact to the point it returns to the height of pain it was when i was hospitalised with it. it really does eat away at you , the pain, the limitations it brings in your life. it feels like a conspiracy, as i was told have your baby you'll be fine. no way, that's a lie.

please, please do not feel low, or down about what's not done. i wished there was something i could say or do that could make it better but i know there is n't and i'm sorry for that.i guess the only help we can offer is that you are not alone. you know that i am near if there is something i can do then shout.

feeling for you. rest and sending you hugs xxxx

Unfortunately I still suffer from my SPD 11 years after having Ruthie - so it's certainly not the case that it will automatically go away once the baby is born. I've had to try and learn to manage it ( although I do regularly over-do it and cause a flare-up - and it does get worse every month as well). The doctor will be able to give you painkillers - I hope you can find some that work for you. The biggest relief I've found with mine was when I went to an osteopath. Along with physio, he recommended I bought support shorts from M&S (v.attractive!) and a support belt, which I've to wear when doing hoovering etc. Definitely made a difference.

It's very difficult as my dh doesn't really understand how bad it gets. I think you can only really understand if you suffer from it yourself. I hope you can get some relief from the pain.xxx

Thanks everyone - the pain is still there and getting worse so I am going to go back to my chiropractor and gp this week and see what I can do.
