well we have had the results of DH's count!

You have all heard of the saying no news is good news well i dont believe that.

The norm for a sperm count is 40 million and all active (obviously) well dh's was 27 million and most are lazy.

The doc told us this does not mean it well never ever happen but it will be very very difficult and any child will be very special.

This has come as a shock for dh and myself im still going to have my blood tests done to make sure that there may be a possibility of us being able to conceive. thanx for listening.

Don't panic there are a few things you can do to increase sperm count and you can turn your sperm count around in 3months.  The first thing you must do is ask for a retest, most dr's will not take the first test as 100% accurate as sperm count can fluctuate within a day.  You really need him to be retested again in a months time.  Does your husband smoke or drink both lower sperm count.  Does he drink enough water, this can help increase sperm and also a Vitamin C, Vitamin E and Beta Carotene tablet every day will help.  Also once you are charting your bbt make sure you only have sex every other day not every day during your fertile period this will give the sperm chance to build up again before trying again.

There is also evidence to show that a man giving a sample into a sterile pot will produce less fertile sperm than if the sperm is ejaculated into a condom during sex as he is stimulated less and arousal increases the amount of sperm ejaculated.

Eat a low fat high protien diet.  Also aviod waring tight underware, boxers only and let them hang free as often as possible.  What is his occupation as there is some evidence to suggest some occupations can cause lower sperm count.

Don't give up yet, hugs xxx

Going commando is good!!  Does his nether regions get warm at all in his job?  Not smoking or drinking much is also good.  What about caffiene intake?
