hi there, i was just after a bit of advice really, im 6weeks pregnant, and started bleeding lightly on thursday, ( it is now sat) i went to A&E they took me straight up to a gyni ward, where they took blood and urine samples, both these test clearly show that i am pregnant and my hormaone levels are quite high, i was told to go home and return the next day for a scan, i went for the scan, off the normal scan they couldn't see anything so i agreed to an internal scan which hurt like hell, anyway they found a sac, but said it was too early to tell if id lost the baby and they also said that the sac is measuring at 4-5 weeks not 6. i have to go back for another scan in 2 weeks. im convinced that the baby is still there as i haven't passd any clots. im still bleeding at the same rate i was on thursday, would i be right in thinking my baby is still there??  please help!

Hi. I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this and really hope that all is OK.

At 6 weeks, its 50/50 whether they can see a baby on a scan or not as things are so very small still, so don't give up hope yet. Bleeding in pregnancy is extremely common and doesn't always mean that you're going to miscarry. Your hormone levels being high are a good sign.

Any scan always is always classed as being +2 or -2 weeks so even you're 6 weeks, the scan could show things plus or minus 2 weeks either side.

Are you sure of your dates? Could you be less far on than you think?

I know its hard but try and take things as easy as you can in these next 2 weeks. If you're at all concerned, see your Dr or call the hospital.

Sending baby glue your way and keeping everything crossed for you. Please let us know how you get on.

Feeling pregnant is also a good sign too. I know how hard it is to be in this limbo time, but you will get there. Hang in there. xxxxx

Aww hun Im really sorry you are going through this.

I had the same thing happen. I was a little further on tho. The scan shown I was just 6weeks (dates said 7weeks) and the heart beat was just visable. I also bled for about 2 or 3 days. The doc and midwife said it was just the baby setting into the womb.

Keep us updated hun.
