Babe i'm sure it all just procedure. The doc prob thought it was best to get her under the hospital as soon as that way you will be able to request an appointment and they will know who you are. Thing is now the surgeon will know who she is and how urgent it will be if she does need to go in. They have a list but put the most urgent first. When i get referred for my hips i only have to wait about a month to see my consultant as he knows me and gets me in as soon as. xxxxxx

Perhaps the dr thought he'd send a referral up to the hospital in case the appointment took a long time to come through on the basis that when he saw you on the 14th and if he felt everything was OK it would be easier to cancel an appointment then wait for one. As the hospital have said they possibly had a cancellation hence how quickly she can go in.

I hope all is OK though.
