Hi and welcome to madmums!

Im a single mum to Joshua 4 years and we live in North Wales.

I didn't bf at all, but no other reason than I just didn't want to. Well done of keeping it up so long, especially with the hurdles you met along the way.

Christine x

Hi, and welcome to the site. I'm Rachel, mum to three boys, Ethan (7), Noah (almost 5) and Joseph (3), all of whom I breastfed with varying degrees of sucess.

Your username is really apt! That is a fantastic achievement to not only have sucessfully fed your own children, but also to donate to the scbu and make a real difference to poorly babies. I truly hope that you manage to overcome these early difficulties that you're having again and go on with your second daughter as you did your first.

When I had my first, I had terrible problems getting started. Incredibly painful cracked nipples that bled, and problems getting a correct latch. I was on the verge of giving up when it all fell into place for me. You should be truly proud of yourself for continuing in the face of all that was thrown at you, as that would be very difficult for anyone. I'm sure that your strength of character and determination will see you through again. Well done - you are an inspiration to women who want to feed!

Hope to see you around the site more.

3smallboys,

Thankyou for your kind words  I think it was more that i was stubborn that made me continue.. as everyone kept telling me to quit as i had had enough pain.

This time though i managed to find the perfect website (breastfeedingheaven.co.uk) which is the answer to all my previous problems!  sure would have been heaven last time for me!

Well done for b/f for so long with your last little one, I'm sure it will fix itself with the next.

My health visitor was very supportive when I had problems b/f in the beginning and even sat with me for two hous just trying different ways on getting my son to latch on etc. I managed to b/f until he was 10 months and would try to b/f any fuutre children.

What an incredible thing to do in expressing for others just knowing you helped some very ill baby must make you feel very proud of yourself!!!
