I new here and thought i would introduce myself.

I have two girls; dd1 i bfed exclusively for 6 months then weaned solids and continued to bfed for just over 2 years then she self weaned probably coz i was pg. dd2 is now 17 weeks and exclusively bfed - i plan to bf until she self weans also.

With dd1 i had  cracked/bleeding nipples, Mastitis 4 times, then as a result of the Mastitis =Low Milk Supply, then as a result of LMS and regular top ups using a bottle i experienced Nipple Confusion. I was in desperate need of medication (i think) as i felt completely rejected by my dd1 and felt like i was failing to provide her with was i was made to provide her with - my milk. But managed to keep my head high and march on to succeed! At approx 4 months i started over producing and decided to express and donate my milk to a local bank and expressed 50 - 70oz per week for 1 year

With dd2 i have experience cracked nipples and Mastitis twice (so far). I am obviously prone to have a rotten start at breastfeeding but again i am marching on!

I came here to share my experiences and also to seek some encouragement to express and donate again.

Bfing is my life!

Hey hello and welcome.

I'm Emma and i'm mummy to Jamie-leigh and Ashleigh.

They are my 2 and a half year old twin girls.

I live in Nottingham.

Welldone to you for being so persistant with the bf. I did it for 3 weeks but mixed fed due to the girls being so small and wanting to get them home. They were 8 weeks early and in hospital for 4 weeks.

You did so well last time and you know all the benefits. You should carry on and do it again if you can. Its just a shame there isn't more information when you need it. There are other mums on here who bf for quite a while. I know Mumsam is one of them.

Hope you like the site and hope to chat soon. xxxxxxxx

Thanx all for welcoming me. The donated milk went to a SCBU in Glasgow and was given to premature sick babies.

Hi and welcome.

Well done with your breastfeeding. I excusively bf my son for nearly 6 months and continued mix feeding until 11 months. He also self weaned.

I am currently supporting the UK breastfeeding manifesto coalition who are trying to bring in similar laws here as they have it scotland with regards to breastfeeding in public. It is a subject I feel very srtongly about.
