I started my 1st pill pack wen my af started 5 weeks ago but then the bleeding didnt stop for the whole pack - i decided 2 run 2 packs 2gether just incase id made a mistake somewhere or it was taking a while for my body 2 get used 2 it again

i now hav 5 pills left of my 2nd pack & im still bleeding, last time this happened i turned out 2 b 7 weeks pg with Ryan (i know its not possible this time tho)

Any ideas? Im not in any pain, well none other than normal af pains

p i really wouldnt worry hun,

it can take upto 6 months for your body to recover from labour.

i had the coil fitted when leo was 5 weeks old and i'm still getting periods, and slight spotting and they were meant to stop all together as its the new kinda coil.

if still after 6 months i'm still bleeding i will go back to the docs but at the mo i'm not worried at all.

hth

You can run up to 3 packs together before you should take a break Lilp.  If you are just spotting I wouldn't worry too much about it like Gem says can take your body a while to sort itself out.  If you are bleeding heavily like a period all this time I would go back and see the nurse or gp, it might just be that the pill you are taking isn't quite strong enough and a different one might be better for you now.  The only thing to look out for is that you don't get anaemic bleeding for so long so soon after having had Ryan.

Hey Lil P.

I had the same thing and like MumSam said, it turned out to be the pill I was on. They didn't give me my normal pill cos my blood pressure had been erratic, so put me on a different one. I did become anaemic again so had to have iron tablets too.

The nurse changed my pill (back to the one I was on originally) and the bleeding stopped, and my blood pressure was fine!!

V odd....

I'd go and see your nurse or GP, best to be safe.

And, prob stupid question - whats af? I'm just not getting the abbreviation....
