Cameron has just finished ( in last two days) his second lot of double dose antibiotics. He had a chest infection and ear infection. Last night he was up screaming again, holding same ear. Have made another appointment with dr today, but don't want sent away with the same antibio's for a 3rd time!

Cameron doesn't normally suffer from problems with his ears - infact the wee soul hasn't really been well since we moved down to Norfolk - his asthma is playing up terribly too!

Just wondered, does anyone else's lo suffer from recurring ear infections? Are there different antibio's they can give for this, rather than repeating same ones (which obviously aren't working)?

awwww mate.  Tasja had ear infection after ear infection from when she was about 3-6 years old.  I was going loopy.  She was constantly on antibiotics all the time because of it.  Finally got a referral to see an ear doc, and he said no probs with her ears.  He did say that it may be that the antibs are clearing up 99.9 percent of the bugs but not clearing that last little bit, hence the recurring ear infections.  He said that it may be instead of having a weeks worth of antibs that the next time she might need a week and a bits worth just to clear the final bugs, might be worth asking the doc
