I just wondered how many of you have experienced Mastitis.

I was reading the article on the front page and found it really interesting.
I did experience Mastitis but unusually I had it before I fell pregnant but didn't experience it whilst breastfeeding. I know it was extremely painful for me and I cant imagine having to feed whilst in that pain but I know many of you did.

I didn't get mastitis, but did suffer from blocked ducts which was painful enough! Used my Breast Nurse warm to help and just kept feeding Ben through it to move the blockage. I tried expresing to clear it too but the pump pressed on the sore part and hurt even more!

I had mastitis about 10 years ago. This was pre-marriage and pre-baby and came about as a result of an infected cyst. On a scale of painful things, it came 2nd with only colic ahead of it - putting c-section after pain in 3rd!

It really was a horrid experience although once the antibiotics kicked in, the pain and swelling went quite quickly.
