I can totally relate to all that has been said on here... well except catching the poo LOL.

Especially what you have just said Greedy about pooey nappy on the floor. I had a bad night with Seren last night, although she only woke once it was early morning and so I didn't go back to bed, I did doze off on the settee though whilst winding Seren!!

I awoke to shouts from Cerys 'Mummy, Mummy are you there Mummy, I'm awake.' Followed by mumble mumble mumble nappy, mumble mumble mumble chocolate in my nappy mumble mumble take it off.'

I was suddenly wide awake, I put Seren down and shot upstairs. Too late, empty nappy on the floor, poo all over the carpet, bed, teddy's beanbag etc etc. Have had to throw the bean bag away as I didn't realise that the cover didn't come off so I couldn't wash it!!! Teddy was sneaked out of the room and into the washing machine whilst DH watched Cerys in the bath who was still talking about having chocolate in her nappy... I'm worried that she thinks it's chocolate although I keep telling her that it is is poo!!! Luckily Cerys didn't ask for teddy during her afternoon nap and he was dry in time for bedtime...phew!

We have also gone backwards a bit on the potty training, we are having similar problems with her peeing on the floor despite the potty being in the room etc. I thought it was my fault because Seren has been ill I've been spending as much time as I can with Cerys as well so that she doesn't think all my time is going on Seren and I keep forgetting to remind her to sit on the potty. Reading this post has made me feel better that perhaps it's just one of those phases and I will persevere again with it tomorrow... might forget about the pull ups and just stick to the pants. Means I'll have to put a towel on her carseat just in case when we drive to the airport tomorrow night to pick up Sian.

Lol - doesn't seem like long ago I was going through this! They definitely seem to have stages of 1 step forward 2 steps back when potty training, nickimas. I was tearing my hair out with Cameron for months!

I too had the 'poo explosion' in the bedroom - I have no idea how he managed to get it over EVERYTHING! He did it about 4 times in total. It was awful...crossing the landing in the morning...slowly opening his door....what's that smell...Oh no, not again!!!!!!!!xxx

Like Mamma2bronze says try and not to worry too much about it.  It'll click with him in time.

My youngest son is 2 and although he'll sit on the potty (for, oh, a nano second) nothing has ever hit the bottom of it, but I'm not worried.  He'll learn in his own sweet time.

Apart from that no advice really...just go with the flow, so to speak.

Yep i wouldn't worry either hun. Most kids go backwards before they grasp the real thing. My girls have gone back countless times and i know they can do it. I even take them out in pants so i know they are capable. Just carry on and then all of a sudden you wil find he will go back to the potty. xxxxxx

Thanks guys! Wel I was woken this morning by 'Mummy peepee on floor'. (dh has been leaving him in his rom on a morning minus nappy with pottyso I get a few more minutes to come round). So I cleaned it all up, and reinforced that we do pes in potty not on floor! He laughed at my with 'no, floor' but then sat on his potty and did a big wee! Mega praise and hugs, like we did when he first started on potty. Reinforced again about where pee and poo goes.

Did another wee before we left home for sining, again huge praise. (Didn't have nappy on before then though and no pees on floor or potty) And another when we got home. Now has no nappy again and hasn't done anything else. Still waiting on training pants to come, grrr!

Nicki, I've also got some Buppy Pads, which are special pads designed to fit into carseats and buggies to contain spills and small accidents. You can order them from buppy.co.uk and they come in loads of dif designs. More colourful than a towel!

I've cut a chunk of nappy and put this under a towel in the carseat...

bensmum, are you using a reward chart?  we've started with one  today to help the poo problem and she loves it!  just a thought...

btw, what are training pants?

I've ordered some Bright Bots Training pants. They look and fit exactly like proper pants but are slightly thcker in the crotch as they have a foam pad there to soak up any little accidents. I've ordered them from twinkleontheweb.co.uk but they are also available from kiddicare.com and other places. I'm hoping that they'll feel just like bigboy pants but with a bit more security for me! Just while he gets the feeling of being wet and can then (hopefully) tell me when he needs to go. The disposable potty training pants from Huggies and Pampers don't seem to work with Ben, he uses them just like nappies .

We're not really using a reward chart at the moment, but I am keeping a record of when he uses his potty and show him that when I fill it in. Will probably use a reward chart when I get him in proper pants.

Oooh I'm going to have a look at those Buppy pads. They will be really useful especially when we drive back to the UK at Christmas as it's such a long drive and although we can stop regularly you can guarantee CJ will catch us out and be desperate in between stops.

Today was quite amusing, I made sure CJ sat on her potty before she sat down to lunch as usual, and as usual she did a wee. Well she was taking her time over lunch and I noticed she was starting to look at herself 'down there' so I said 'CJ do you need a wee' to which she replied 'no it's OK Mummy' So I asked her again 'No' She daid 'I will just do it on the chair' Luckily I managed to convince her that her lunch wasn't going to go anywhere and she did go on the potty.
