Thanks everyone for your comments.
Ellie still very poorly, she has been to hospital today. She had a very unsettled night, crying all the time that "it hurts". When she woke up she said she couldn't see, she really has been suffering and I was not happy at all that it was just normal chicken pox. Rang NHS direct this morning who were great and they told us to go to the out of hours surgery. The woman there looked at her but said she had never seen anything like it - it looked like measles on the face and chicken pox everywhere else. Ellie is absolutely covered, i can not believe how bad she has got it. Her temp was 39.8 which is apparently unusual with chicken pox. She referred us straight away to teh childrens ward at the hospital.
They were very good with her and two doctors looked at her as there was some confusion over whether it was measles or chicken pox. In the end they decided it was chicken pox but her face is so red and sore there may be a secondary infection beginning (?). they have prescribed her anti-biotics and she's also got to keep taking the calpol and nurofen. After a few hours they discharged her but we've got "open access" for the next 24 hrs so can take her straight back to the ward anytime in the next 24 hrs if she gets worse.
Nothing seems to be easing it for her, she just doesn't know what to do with herself. She's asked to go and get in bed so hopefully she might be able to settle for a bit.
My poor baby is so poorly.
