I dont have children of my own (yet) however i have worked in childcare for 9 years (private day care) i find if the child is starting young leaving a nappy off all together for the first week or so works well, this way the child doesnt have the panic of getting their pull up off and its also easier for u to direct them quickly. Means cleaning up wee quite a lot but its worth it in the end. Whatever u decide to do, do be consistant and DO NOT go from pants to nappy to pull up and change over it just confuses them and it takes a hell of a long time for them to learn. I personally hate pull ups as do many childcare workers and find pants the best way its easier for them to grasp the difference, its to easy to wee in a pull up because its still very much like a nappy. Using a star chart works well to x
