just wondering (for those that have taken anti-ds before) how long they take to start to take effect?

I've been on mine for 8 days now and I don't feel any different, in fact, I've felt worse than I have done in ages today altho I did have a dreadful night's sleep..

I suppose I expected to feel slightly better by now and I'm starting to worry that I'm expecting too much from the tablets and that they're not going to make any difference..

the doc said 7-10 days so I know I'm a little premature, I just expected to feel a bit different by now...?

thanks, Greedy, x

I seem to remember it taking about a month for them to have any effect on me. But I guess everyone is different. Stick with them hun. Hope you start to feel better soon.

Sorry I'm not much use really

Take care

x

Hello.....

They can take up to 4 weeks to start to make a noticeable difference, which feels like a bloody long time when you're waiting. I've taken them twice, and the last time was for PND and I think it was about 3 weeks. I know that that isn't what you want to hear and that its no consolation, but they will work soon, I promise.

Its all to do with regulating the serotonin levels (as I board you to tears with in my other post!) but it can take a few weeks for the effects of the tablets to make a difference in these levels.

I wish there was a quick solution, just hang in there and you will notice a difference soon.

Massive hugs.....

Sorry Greeds, it can, as Diz and Dani have said take a few weeks, and sometimes you feel worse before you get better.  Hang on in there, it will get better for you.

BIG HUGE hugs from me

Yup, 3 - 4 weeks is roughly about the time when you start to notice a difference.

Dont expect them to make you happy and cheery all the time, as they wont you will still have bad days but they will help to make sure that the bad days are not everyday.

Waiting for them to 'work' feels like an age, but you'll get up one morning and you'll say to your self 'hmm

i think they are working now', thats what i did anyway lol

I hope your feeling brighter soon greeds!
