since yesterday all ive done is sit in floods of tears because bailey isnt well.. yesterday i bumped his head as i was folding the pushchair down, and it really hurt him and it bruised.. please dont tell me im a bad mum because i already know that! tuesday he fed as normal, tuesday night he had a bottle of formula because he was feeding so much off me i needed a break and i was so tired , he slept till 5am which was great i had a fab night sleep, but then thats when he went downhill.. he fed 3 times yesterday for just 2-5 mins each time, and each time he was sick! sometimes loads sometimes just a little.. all hes done is winge and cry and its like hes in pain.. at first i thought it was cos i bumped his head but yesterday he got a cough and today he seems very wheezy so i dont think its because of that.. im scared incase its bronchilitis.. my other boys had this in october time and was seriously ill with it and ended up in intensive care, bailey is only 6 weeks old, hes got the signs, gone off feeding, cough, wheeze.. all i done is cry for him, and me cos im tired.. also his fontanelle has been sunken all day yesterday and its still sunken now! is this a sign of dehydration, i cant remember
through last night he fed once for all of 2 minutes, hes so sleepy and its not like him, if hes not asleep hes crying
going to take him to the clinic and mention my worries to hv but worried incase we get refered to hospital..

If i were you chica..get your bum to the docs asap.
You are not a bad mum, so stop beating yourself up. Hes probably picked up a bug and now its hitting him.
Accidents happen chica..and if i thought about all the stuff that had happened when my two were babies id be carted off to a nut house.
Phone the docs chica and get your bum up there as soon as you can, or phone your health visitor, rather than wait til later birdy. Sooner he gets seen to, the sooner you can relax a bit

I got referred to the hospital not long ago as dd was badly dehydrated, she was vomiting, diarrohea and stopped weeing and couldn't do much apart from sleep, they were great the hospital, they put her a drip for the day and night and she went home the next day, and made a full recovery in a week, they said it must be a bug she had.

Goodness, I think we've all dropped or bumped our children off something at some point! If he needs to go into hospital it's the best place for him to be, so you are doing the absolute best for him getting him seen to. Let us know how you get on.

thanks for all the replies girls..
Hi well i took bailey to the gp at 11.30am and he said he has a chest infection/virus, hes to young to be given any antibiotics so he only gave him calpol.. he told me to watch out for any colour changes ie grey/blue as this is a sign of bronchilitis and with him being so young it can happen very quickly.. so i have the added worry he might get that now!
after the docs i took him to get him weighed at the clinic and immediatly the health visitor came over because he was in so much pain she was quite concerned etc.. she held him for 15 mins and said he has the classic signs of tummy ache, and he is a little dehydrated.. he was pushing himself up and stretching his self out because the pain was to much to bear.. finally some answers the docter wasnt intrested when i told him he had belly ache.. so to be told i wasnt going mad helped alot.. i had a bit of a cry and she told me not to worry and he will get better but it would take time.. once hes better then he will start feeding properly.. she did tell me to get intouch with philis the breastfeeding support worker as i need to keep my milk up for once he is better etc.. she gave me a prescription for nystatin again ( 2 weeks now hes had thrush and its not clearing) she explained it can take a couple of bottles to get it to work, and she also gave me some calpol for his tummy ache.. so at 2.30 i gave him 2.5 mls of calpol and he had a little feed and he settled for 2 hours no crying, no pain, so the calpol must have worked alongside the walk we had this afternoon.. walking does wonders i think..
i really feel like banging my head against a brick wall, its really doing my head in and im in bits.. worrying about his breathing and his pain i just cant stop crying at the moment..
