Flipping baby changing room..
we went to birmingham last week and got the national express coach home, anyway bailey had been ill and not wanted feeds but was showing signs of intrest whilst we was in the waiting area of the bus station.. so i paid my 20 p and went to use the baby changing, there was a chair outside so i took the bits off and dragged the chair in the baby changing room, and this women came up to me and said im sorry you cant feed him in there, its a disabled toilet as well, if anyone needs to use the toilet they cant, and disabled are more important etc.. (like they get priority) anyway i was having a full blown arguement about feeding him with her and oh came over so i just shut the door and went in to feed him, but i was that upset i couldnt he wouldnt latch, i think he knew my anxiety's, it was a further 30 mins before our coach left so i kinda hoped he wouldnt want feeding until then.. but how mad was i and my oh was kicking off with the lady, in the end he went to someone who filled a form in for a complaint, the lady we spoke to about it said it was a absulute disgrace she said that to me.. and something would be done, 10 mins later we saw her being led from her job to the office..
sorry for the rant, but it still does happen in places, the reason i went to feed in the baby changing/disbaled toilet, the waiting area was jam packed full and seats were all around me, i couldnt move without ppl looking at me..

Thats awful, but good for you for complaining, some people are so awkward. I dont bf so dont have this problem but am finding people funny about heating Zarahs bottles up. I went into a kids play zone and asked if they could heat her feed in a jug of water for me and the woman said no because there policy was to heat them up in a microwave! I kicked up hell with the manager and explained microwaves create hotspots and could burn my babys mouth eventually they let me have a jug of water by this time I just wanted to go home! Noone should be funny about babies feeding whether its a bottle or bf!

That is appalling! Well done for sticking to your guns!
I don't know if you know but I am campaigning for women's rights to breastfeed in public without being asked to move on. I find stories like yours disgraceful!
So many more women would breastfeed for longer if society just made it easier for them.
Good luck continuing to feed, don't let this put you off!

im not a mum yet but i think this is absolutley disgrassful (sp?) what do these people think is so WRONG a baby being fed or the fact another person may want to get in the toilet?
Its natural and a wonderful picture a baby being fed by their mother whats more naturally beautiful ?
Im glad you and oh complained about this woman although im sorry you ever had the need to in the first place.Hope little Bailey got his feed in the end .
well done for fighting back people need to get a grip on whats digusting and whats nature.

Thats terrible! Personally I would've justfed him in the waiting room, but i can understand about you being a little reluctant when it wasso full. Its terrible that there wasn't a nursing room for you. To have to feed in a toilet is awful! Glad you complained! Hope you get an apology too, you deserve one! Roll on the change in the law!!!

Erm, playing Devil's Advocate here but wasn't it the fact that it was a disabled toilet being used rather than you breast feeding in it? If not, then that is pants.
I must admit I never shied away from breastfeeding in public and I certainly wouldn't feed my baby in a toilet. I'm all for breast feeding, and there really is too much unneccessary resistance from the public at times. However, I must admit I've never encountered any disgruntlement when I breastfed.
