My poor ole dyson died the other day, but as it was still under its 2 year guarantee dp phoned up b4 I could stop him.......you see I confess that we have abused the poor thing. 

2 years ago we bought this house, relatively cheap cos it needed a lot doing to it, so my poor dyson has had a lot to cope with in its relatively short life.  We have knocked down walls, removed fireplaces, stripped paintwork back to the wood, steamed off artex ceilings etc........and everytime dyson has dutifully cleaned up after, so its not surprising he gave up the ghost.

Today the engineer came, I was soo embarrassed cos it must have been obvious that we hadnt looked after him properly.  Anyway he now has a new motor, and I have a second chance to look after him properly in the future!

Kasak - I did exactly the same thing to ours!!!! We have a dyson animal too and we had an extension built last year. Well the poor old thing had to suck up sooooo much dust/rubble etc that I thought I was gonna have to buy a new one... Well - interesting Dyson fact for you, well 2 actually!!

If you have a dyson vacuum that is out of warranty, Dyson will come out and replace whatever needs replacing for about £30-£40 - can't remember exactly. If you need a new motor, its £80. But that included EVERYTHING!!! My sister dropped hers down the stairs and broke the front bit clean off, the handle broke and the dust collector cracked - they replaced all of that for between £30 and £40!! Its 1 fixed fee no matter what needs doing and no matter how old!!

AND - top dyson tip no 2....

I have the washing machine (yes, super saddo - its purple!!!) and it rocks. The guarentee is 2 years BUT ours is now 4 years old and Dyson rang to come and do a routine upgrade to it. They found out that one of the drums had jammed (it has 2 and they go in different directions!!) so they replace the whole drum mechanism - FOR FREE!!! In fact, they also replaced the motor, the soap tray (cos I'd cracked it!) and the coin trap (I hit it with the vacuum) FOR FREE!!! Bless Dyson!!!  The engineer is a bit of a stalker as he "knows all his machines in the area", but they believe that as you've invested in them, they will look after you!!

So there you go - if you have a dyson and it breaks - DO NOT FEAR!!

I love Dyson....

PS The engineer is sooooo much of a stalker that when he went to my sisters, and she said I had the washer too, he said - oh yes, she was pregnant - what did she have.... AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

My dh killed our dyson lol.  He was cleaning the carpet and decided to hoover up the water.  It when boom.  It was still under waranty too but we where too embarrased to call them. xxx

weve got the animal but its stopped sucking up cat fur-not attached to cats!

its just pants now n the lil man has been out numerous times to c it!

i think itll be heading to the hoover heaven soon!
