What a beautiful daughter you have.

I know it will be so strange for you all, but how proud will you all be seeing her on her passing out day ?

Dh says that joining the RAf was the best thing he ever did! And even though he's been to some scary places, he wouldn't change it for the world. To be honest, if he wasn't in the RAF we'd probably not got together. How shallow am I? lol

lol...was the best thing I ever did..well apart from having the girls.  You make friends for life..they look after you...well as much as what they can.  I wouldnt have changed my decision if I could go back and do it again...cant see me passing the medical now though and ive missed my two year window to go back lol...uniform fittings would have been funny.

Remind her to pack some cilit bang..its a god send for cleaning for bull nights...erm plenty of money..cos she wont get paid for the first 2 weeks..and when i think of some more 'cheats' ill send them to you lol.

One of my mates has just finished her basic training..shes on holding at the moment...just waiting to start trade training down in portsmouth.  Shes said although it was hard work..she wouldnt change her mind.

Oh dear floods of tears today.  They have rung her because as a young child she used to get asthma when she was ill, if she had a cold or tonsilitus it would trigger mild viral asthma.  They have said they need to speak to her gp and do some checking on her medical history.  They knew all this weeks ago when she had her medical so why now I don't know.  But it does mean she may not get in on the 19th September.  They have said she has to have not needed an inhaler for 4yrs, I can't remember for the life of me how old she was when she last had an inhaler I am sure it was before Ols was born but that is only 2 1/2 yrs ago.  Once she had done her basic training she is going to RAF Digby to train as an Ariel erector so that's lots of hot detachments....

ooooooooo shes going to be a rigger....right she needs to learn to drink..and lots of it...erm..hold her own and dish it out when she gets it..the riggers are a good laugh..tough nuts the lot of them..but hearts of gold.  Wouldnt get me doing all the climbing they do...waaaaay to high up!

If shes passed everything..and done her attestation (RAF equivelent of brownie promise) there is nothing they can do to boot her out!

Shes going into a tough trade..mostly male dominated..but they are a good laugh and they deffo look after there own peeps fiercely.

Thinking of her Sam - it must be so hard of her. It sounds like she'll be ok though! Fingers (and everything else) crossed!
