I have a question about premature birth.  I was born a premee a month early and i am currently at 7 1/2 months pregnant and my baby is doing a lot of moving and i was a little concerned.  is there a higher risk of premee mothers having premee children.

Do you know why you were born prematurely?  There is very little evidence to show that premature labour is hereditary.  Premature labour normally occurs if there are risk factors like carrying twins, diabetes, excessive amniotic fluid or infection.  An active baby is a good sign not a bad sign.  Babies normally go quiet for a little while before labour.

i was born at 32 weeks and weighed 2lb. both of my children were born at full term and weighed 8lb 6oz and 8lb 12oz.

i was monitored by a consultant with both pregnancies but that was because i was born with a few problems and had nothing to do with extra chances that my babies would be born early.

hope ur ok try not to worry to much
