Well after all the talk of potty training and us doing bits here and there i chatted to mark this morn and from 11am ish until 8pm tonight emily was nappy free all day she had a poo about 17 wee's and 5 accidents (3 of those right at the end of the day) sooo all in all im feeling really proud of her shes doen really well considering shes never been nappy free all day! We decided to go the full way and we really musnt given up....its really hard work isnt it ive spent the whole day watching her like a hawk putting her on the potty every 20 mins or sooo -sooo tiring lol

Just wanted to ask am i doing the right thing leaving her nappyless as i thought its too confusing puttin one on now and then - we havent been out today but am kinda dreading car journeys and shops! but am determined to take potty and grin and bear it lol Im sure shes ready as she was making her own mind up to go on the potty etc jsut sometmes forgot herself i think. I know all children are different and it gets easier with time but how long approx before it gets a lot easier and less tiring lol - oh listen to me its only been one day!!! lol

Oh argh really sorry wrong section can someone move it for me please?...thanx alot :)

This is how we started with Ben, with no nappy on, but at first puting him in pull up disposibles when out. The only prob I found was that he would wait to poo in his pull ups.So now he's in washable training pants all day, in or out. We take potty everywhere and I stick him on it quite frequently, at least every half hr. I also take him to the toilet when we're out if I can so he gets used to going to the loo as well.

It is hard work and he seems to have accidents when I'm not concentrating on it! He's doing really well though. Good luck!

Wellgirls yesterday i dared a trip in the car - everything was fine - got to nannys (not brave enough for town yet lol) she was fine i kept encouraging her on potty but she wasnt keen then she wee'd in her jeans - lol she did 2 or 3 other wees whilst we were there but im finding when we are home shes fab she runs around with a bare bum and hardly needs any prompting she jsut sits on it and does what she has to do which is fab but i think she has a problem when she has clothes on so im hoping this will come soon enough! btw she only had one accident yesterday which made me really proud!

Im determined to keep this up!!!! the hard work is worth it in time!

Lauren is Bronia fully trained now? how long did it take if so?

And everyone else? how long did it take to fully train your lo's in the day then at night? how old were they? if you dont mind me asking?!

i found that with svannah i had to keep her out of knickers as whenever i put them on her she thought she was wearing a nappy and weed in them.

it took me around 5 days to fully potty train svannah and she has been dry day and night ever since we even went to the blackpool meet afer 6 days and she was dry all the way there and back.

hope u dont get to stressed.

xxx

yep 5 days she was 2 years 3 almost 4 months i just left her in the house with a skirt on. by day 4/5 i could put her in trousers

at night time from day 1  she refused to let me put a nappy on her, but she had been getting up for a wee and had a dry nappy for a few weeks b4 this.

i just couldnt get her top sit on the potty in the day time b4 the first day i told her she wasnt havinga nappy she now takes herself to the toilet day and night.

i know ive been really lucky with her

good luck hun

Thats really good - emily still wears a nappy at night and is quite happy to wee in it at the moment so i will take each day as it comes! when i get her up in the morn she doesnt ask to have the napy off but as soon as i take it off she goes straight back to weeing in the potty  without any prompting from me at the moment sooo fingers crossed!

You can buy special seat covers from Boots for the car seat or pram. They are waterproof and holes for the seat fastener/belt to go through so they stay put. They were a god send to me out in the car, allow they arent cheap. I think they are £7.50 each. Im not sure what I did with mine or I'd send them to you, I think I might have sent them to another mum. Also a porta potty! Oh they are little lifesavers to and so lightweight and compact. You can get them from a few places, I got mine from Boots as well.

She sounds to be doing really well! Personally I would pop her in knickers at home so that its the same for her at home or at grandma's/town. She might have a few accidents at first, but she'll quickly realise that she can pull them up and down easily enough. Plus at home you'll be asking her if she wants a wee wee so she'll know that being in knickers still means she has to go.

Im sure she'll be dry in no time! Yay well done little lady!!
